Trim Levels (Exterior)
Four trim levels and a few special editions give you style options on what you want your truck to look like. Every Colorado features a corner-step rear bumper, corner handgrips, and as many as 17 tie-downs in the bed to make loading and hauling easy.
Wheel options include 17-inch and 18-inch sizes in cast-aluminum, machined aluminum, or graphite aluminum. Also, the EZ-Lift-and-Lower tailgate comes standard on most models, as do daytime running lamps.
The ZR2, a prominent Colorado trim, offers three special editions: the Bison, Dusk, and Midnight. All have signature style points like the blacked-out trim on the Midnight and the contrasting white on black of the Dusk. The Bison is the beast of the three, with signature off-road features that will help you go over, through, and around anything out there.
Colorado's Redline special edition is tricked out for a sportier look and feel, while the Custom is loaded with luxury appointments to rival any truck in any class.
Engine (Power)
Three engines power the Colorado lineup. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is standard on the WT. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission to produce 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque.
Chevrolet's 3.6-liter V-6 engine with dual overhead cams is the second engine — standard on the rest of the Colorado models. This motor is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, both combining to supply 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque.
The Duramax 2.8-liter turbo-diesel engine provides the perfect blend of power and efficiency. This powertrain works in tandem with the same eight-speed transmission to generate a solid 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
If your adventure always takes you off-road, go with the Bison. The Bison comes with 48 mm of additional lift from the factory, and is also equipped with five hot-stamped boron steel skid plates protecting its underbelly. Towing with the Colorado is impressive, thanks to its 7,700-pound maximum towing capacity. Its high-strength steel frame lets you haul gear in a cargo bed offering 49.9 cubic feet and a loading capacity of 1,550 pounds.
Interior
You'll enjoy a quiet, comfortable ride inside the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado.
