Trim Levels (Exterior)
You can choose the Trailblazer of your dreams from the five trims, L, LS, LT, Activ, and RS. The Activ features wider wheels, a two-tone roof, and exterior accents to give this trim a unique look. To carry a kayak, stand up paddleboard, or bicycle, the LT trim comes standard with roof rails. The top-tier RS trim has aggressive-looking 18-alloy wheels and snappy red interior accents.
Engine (Power)
You have two engines to choose from. The base engine features a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder that produces 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. For a bit more power, choose the 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that delivers 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. A continuously variable transmission pairs with both engines, or with the all-wheel-drive version, you get a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
All trims of the Trailblazer handle well on the road, whether buzzing around town, zipping down the freeway, or driving down gravel roads. The soft suspension absorbs bumps and road shocks. The small turning radius makes it easy to maneuver into challenging parking spaces, and you get plenty of acceleration when entering the freeway or when passing other cars. Rear-wheel drive comes standard. The all-wheel-drive system only pairs with the 1.2- liter engine and continuously variable transmission. Your Trailblazer can tow up to 1,000 pounds with the proper towing equipment and package.
Interior
You can fit five people in the two rows of seats, and depending on which trim, you get either cloth or simulated-leather upholstery. A leather-wrapped steering wheel comes standard on the Activ and RS trims or optional on the others. A power-adjustable driver's seat comes with the three upper trims as well as heated seats for both the driver and front-seat passenger.
You can carry plenty of supplies and luggage with the available 54.4 cubic feet of cargo space. The 40/60 split-folding rear bench seat along with a folding front passenger seat allows for flexible storage solutions and allows you to carry longer items.
You get a 7-inch touch screen with the infotainment system, or you can choose the optional Convenience Package to get an 8-inch touch screen. The four-speaker sound system lets you listen to your playlists with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. The Convenience Package also gives you SiriusXM satellite radio and a rear-seat USB port. Add the available Technology Package to the Activ and RS trims to get Bluetooth, a wireless charging pad, and a Bose premium stereo system.
Safety Features
Numerous active driver-assist features come across all trims of the Trailblazer. Included are front-pedestrian braking and automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control that comes with the Technology Package. Add the Driver Confidence Package to the upper trims to get blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and rear parking sensors.
