When you're shopping for a Suburban, you'll find six trim levels to choose from, and they each have something special to offer. In terms of exterior features, the base level already has quite a few impressive features, such as 18-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights. With the LT upgrade, you'll find a hands-free tailgate, while the RST boasts 22-inch black painted alloy wheels, a black front grille, and RST badge designs. The Z71 trim level is designed predominantly for off-roading, so its exterior features include add-ons like skid plates, black side steps, and all-terrain tires wrapped around 20-inch wheels. The Premier offers bright side rails mounted to the roof, while the High Country top-level trim features 22-inch alloy wheels and available power-retractable side steps.

Three engine options are available with the Suburban, but every trim level except the High Country comes standard with the base-level engine. Even so, the base-level engine is quite impressive, as it's a 5.3-liter V-8 with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the High Country has a 6.2-liter V-8 offering 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This bigger engine is also available as an upgrade on the RST, Z71, and Premier trims. You can also opt for the diesel alternative, which is a 3-liter turbocharged inline-six offering 277 horsepower with 460 pound-feet of torque.

One of the most impressive performance features of the Suburban is its capability, with a maximum 8,300-pound towing capacity when properly equipped. It also offers dynamic fuel management technology that allows for a far more efficient ride. Magnetic ride control is also available, which makes your ride smooth and easier to control. The Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension is particularly impressive, as it adjusts the suspension based on road conditions to enhance aerodynamics.

If you're looking for cargo capacity, the Suburban is one of the best options available, offering 41.5 cubic feet of space while still keeping all the seats up. If you fold down everything behind the first row, you'll have access to 144.7 cubic feet of space. Passenger space is also quite generous, especially when it comes to the third row, as it offers 36.7 inches of legroom, which is several inches more than the third-row average in its class.

The Suburban features Chevy Safety Assist standard, so you'll always have its suite of advanced safety features at your disposal. Forward-collision alert and automatic emergency braking are included, along with front pedestrian braking and lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning. There's even a following-distance indicator included.
