Blurring the line between sports cars and supercars, the 2024 Chevy Corvette Stingray is a V-8-powered dragster with track-dominating handling capabilities. The sports car is available with numerous appearance and performance packages, here at your local Chevy dealership.
Scorching Acceleration
Powered by a 6.2L V8 DI engine, the Stingray burns rubber with 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. The Z51 Performance Package bumps the figures up to 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, which is enough power to catapult the Stingray from 0 to 60 mph in a blistering 2.9 seconds. The sports car finishes the quarter-mile run in 11.2 seconds and comes with launch control to give drivers a head start.
To keep the Stingray’s lightning acceleration from obstructing your daily driving affairs, it offers six driver modes. These include Weather for storms and slippery road conditions, Tour for regular city cruising, and Sport and Track modes for superior performance. The MyMode and Z modes allow you to mix and combine your favorite elements from the other four modes to create your own driving experience.
Precision Handling
Chevy’s painstakingly perfected mid-engine layout and weight distribution allow the Stingray to overcome any bend. The standard electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD) system distributes torque evenly between the rear wheels for better traction. Magnetic Ride Control is available to further improve handling by adapting the suspension stiffness based on road conditions. Opting for the Z51 package adds a performance traction management system and a rear spoiler to enhance downforce.
Aerodynamic Styling
Its 19-inch front and 20-inch rear gloss black forged aluminum wheels give the Stingray an aggressive rake stance. While aesthetic, its high rake angle and low profile also help the Stingray cut through drag like a bullet, and its front splitter dramatically reduces lift at high speeds. The sports car’s side air intakes add to its sculpted look and cool the mid-mounted V-8 engine.
With the available Z51 Performance Package, the Stingray receives a more stylish front splitter, a rear spoiler, new exhaust outlets, and Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The available Convertible Engine Appearance Package upgrades the engine bay with a clear window and a new engine cover.
Driver-Assistive Technology
Automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, collision alerts, lane keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert make operating the Stingray more convenient and safer. Upgrading to the 2LT trim level unlocks blind zone monitoring and HD front and rear cameras. A head-up display is standard on 2LT and 3LT trim levels, and a performance data and video recorder gives you valuable feedback on your track performance.
