An extended warranty is one way you can reduce the cost of unexpected repairs and protect the value of your Chevy. You can purchase extended coverage plans from your Chevy dealer before your factory warranty runs out.

1. Bumper-to-Bumper

The new Chevy limited warranty lasts for three years, or 36,000 miles. To extend your bumper-to-bumper coverage, you can sign up for the Chevrolet Extended Limited Warranty, which extends the term of your limited warranty to five years or up to 60,000 miles. You can only add the Chevy Extended Limited Warranty to your vehicle when you buy it, and the cost of the plan can be bundled into your monthly vehicle payments.

2. Advanced Features

Under the Chevrolet Platinum Plan, which is the highest warranty tier, many of the advanced features on your Chevy will be covered. These advanced features can include blind-spot sensors, heated seats, and a power tailgate lock. The audio and navigation systems on your Chevy are also covered under the Platinum plan, along with over 1,000 other vehicle components.

3. Powertrain

All tiers of the Chevy protection plans offer powertrain coverage. The Chevrolet Powertrain Plan is the most basic level of coverage for the powertrain, as well as other important components of the engine like the drive axle and transmission.

The Chevrolet Silver Protection Plan also covers the powertrain, engine, seals, gaskets, and transmission. Under the Silver plan, if you have a factory-installed turbocharger, this component is also covered.

4. Electrical System

The Chevrolet Silver Protection Plan will cover the electrical systems in your Chevy as well as your air conditioning or climate control systems. Coverage for your electrical systems is essential these days, since many Chevy vehicles are fully loaded with electric monitors and other vehicle components that rely on electric wiring.

What Isn’t Covered?

While the Chevy protection plans and extended limited warranty offer a great deal of protection, these plans don’t cover every vehicle component. The main coverage exclusions for these plans are the battery, battery cable, tire pressure sensors, key fobs, tires, wheels, and components of the vehicle related to emissions. Special trim items are also not covered.
