Under the hood of every Trax is a turbocharged 1.2L Ecotec inline-3 making 137 horsepower and a 162 lb-ft of torque. Combined with a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission, it provides prompt acceleration and an EPA-rated fuel economy rating of 32 MPG highway. An available engine block heater comes with active shutters for the front lower grille and makes it easier to start the engine in low temperatures.

A black grille insert, black Chevy bowtie emblems, and RS badging are featured on the 1RS and 2RS models. 17-inch steel wheels are standard, but other trims come with 18- or 19-inch wheels in a black finish.

Passenger Cabin
The Trax’s interior is just as stylish as the outside. It has an ultra-modern design with driver-oriented displays and controls, circular vents, and slick silver trim. Standard active noise cancellation technology greatly reduces vibrations and uses in-cabin microphones to cancel background noise, resulting in a quiet and peaceful cabin.
Spacious seating for five includes 39.6 inches of front headroom and 38.7 inches of rear legroom. Cargo space is similarly impressive at 25.6 cubic feet, expandable to 54.1 cubic feet when the 60/40 split-folding rear seats are down.
Infotainment
While an 8-inch high-definition touchscreen infotainment system is featured on LS and 1RS trims, the LT, 2RS, and Activ get an 11-inch display. Whichever option you choose, you’ll be able to take advantage of wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration and Bluetooth audio streaming. Every Trax model also supports a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot for internet access while on the go. There are up to four USB ports available for wired connections and charging.
